We spent today orienting ourselves to the city and celebrating St. Patricks day. We woke up early and set off for the neighboring barrio of Recoleta. On the way we strolled through the numerous parks of Buenos Aires such as the El Rosedala. We also made our way to the cemetery of Recoleta which is the resting place of Argentina's elite such as Eva Peron (Evita).
From there we made our way to Argentina's local brewery called Bullers and had ourselves a St. Pattys Day beer. Apparently we weren't the only tourists looking to celebrate as 90% of Bullers patrons were from the US or Europe. Not just the US but the Midwest. In a span of two hours we saw two people from Chicago and met two separate people from Detroit!
On our way home we noticed what appeared to be a street festival in the park so decided to stroll through. Instead of a street fair we found a Ukranian Christian Celebration. As soon as they started to sing Michael Jackson's We Are The World in Spanish while passing out cotton candy we left. Instead we headed back to our apartment at 3168 Godoy Cruz for a glass of wine and dinner. Not sure what we will do tonight but based on what I have seen and done today I am sure it will be Fabuloso!
Hablar con used pronto!
